2020: One way to die in the West

Suspense filled, I’ll say that was 2020 for me. I had (what people would call) “a mortal peril” at some point, and quite a lot of interesting/daring situations. 2020 was the most fun year so far.  I appreciate the new connections made this year and the oldies who kept contact. My virtual social interactions ebbed lowest this year. I grew unconsciously distant from others and engrossed in tasks and activities through which I made new connections, making most of my interactions offline. My ‘thinkings’ were most divergent and atypical this year. I encountered situations which I hadn't imagined or only visualized in movies. I engaged in projects of good stats and read quite a lot of books, both academic and non-academic. A ton of academic books and papers I’ll say. I thank God for the years before this which got me prepared; and my parents and ‘dads’ for working me on to handle things alone and build strength in & on challenges, never to fret, go gloom or beg; and God’s spir...

Scale & Jacket

The snake, a symbol of cunningness. Calm deceitfulness, known for rebellion. It sheds of its skin occasionally, revealing a new demeanor occasionally rebellious, sometimes surprising. It's real personality. That's a snake, that how you spot the snake, it holds all that in & eventually let's them out. To adapt, man puts on a jacket to prevent the cold from coming in. He becomes a new person with that jacket on. Taking on dirt & all foreign that his atmosphere drops. But at sanctuary, he becomes whole again. At home, he becomes himself. Dropping the jacket which is not him & finding peace in himself. At sanctuary he feels sanity, sanctity, serenely. He becomes him. Until he works outside without the jacket he remains another man to the world except for those who can dig within. So his flesh got to metamorphose. That's the difference, that's what distinct man & snake. There's scale which is body, there's jacket which is foreign.

Review of Children of Blood and Bone

Reading Children of Blood & bone . The narrative & descriptions felt so real. Whenever I got lost in a fantasy world of panthenaires, lionaires, maji, kosidans and magic I never wanted leave. Those moments felt like I lived the fiction & I wanted no escape. "Kwame brushes past me, running for the heart of the battle. He grips a dagger tight in his hands. Then he slashes open his palm. Blood magic. Horror settles into my bones. It’s like the world slows to a stop, stretching the seconds between this moment and the last Kwame will ever have. His blood glows with a white light, splashing as it hits the ground. In an instant the ivory light surrounds him, illuminating his dark skin like a god from above. When it reaches the top of his head, it seals his fate. A fire explodes from his skin. Smoldering embers rain from his body. Flames blaze around his form. The fire erupts from every limb, shooting out of his mouth, his arms, his legs. The blast towers meter...

Book Exsect 1

Hear the wild dogs out there in the night. They howl & wail because they are lean with with hunger. Yet feed them and what do they? Fight & strut. Then fight & fight some more, giving no thought to the morrow that will surely come. Just so it is with the sons of men. Give them a choice of gold & wisdom -- what do they do? Ignore the wisdom & waste the gold. On the morrow they wail because they have no more gold. Gold is reserved for those who know it's laws & abide by them. *The Richest Man in Babylon: 5 Laws of Gold*

There'll sure be some that'll will be posted to 1 useless PPA that they're not paying or doing anything and will have to beg for rejection. Amongst these ones, some will be rejected, others wouldn't. The Dead Greedy Sea

The dead sea is a hypersaline body of water with about 33.7% salt (about 8.6 times more than that of an ocean). It's one of the deepest lakes with depth of over 370m. The surface and shores depth about 423m below sea level making it the lowest land surface in the world. It's so salty that there're no activities of macroscopic organisms such as fishes and algae compositions. But only contain a few microbial fungi and bacteria survive with in. Occasionally, it spits up coagulations of bitumen on the surface which the Egyptians once used for mummification. It's hypersalinity makes it easy to float on its surface because of much natural buoyancy. The dead sea is about 67km long and 18km wide (at its widest point).  All these qualities makes it non habitable for life to thrive in the dead sea. There's almost zero activities of macroscopic organisms in these waters just a few surviving microbial fungi and bacteria exist as earlier stated. The dead sea never give...

Trust

Trust, one of the most expensive commodities of life. We never give it all. And when we give, only a measure owing to the fact that I know what you're capable of not because you can't break it. Everyday we experience skullduggeries crafted by same like beings. Some we probably saw through. But we just let it be, maybe we're tired of fighting. Maybe we're better persons; maybe we realize it's vain and paltry. Or maybe we're just as guilty of our own chicaneries.

God's invincible creature

I'm a problem to every problem Big challenges come, promotion Small challenges daily bread Winning, my norm Being at sea, my Endurance is military So pruned up, in the worst of deserts I'll make it rain When you think you've got me down Vhum Up in the skies I've got no limits My wings span the Earth I reign, I rule, I king Dominance over all creatures I've been given the garrison of great swords When I come in, the king is home Every land is mine, it's undisputed Take off your vest, it'll do no good My claws are meant for the big catch I'm God's Invincible Creature

A king

A king, he respects himself & inspires same sentiment in others. He disdains vulgar appearances and mediocrity. He could be several things but choose to be who he is.

The Tiny Wound

I t is small but painful & irritating. You try all sort of medicament, you scratch and pick at the scab. Doctors only make it worse, transforming the tiny wound into a grave matter. If only you had left the wound alone, letting time heal it & freeing yourself of worry.

Love Ditch

If peradventure I sauntered a field with cenotes of love. I'll move around kitted with my foldable ladder, a long rope and carabiners. One thing I'll leave home, my heart intact. Probably I fall in love, I wouldn't forslow to climb out. My foldable ladder extended, I'm out. I've got no feelings to plunge. At least sanity remains. Most times sorry seems to lag around. Especially when there's a counterpart in the love hole. One rough play, hearts fall. And it wouldn't be mine broken cos it's definitely home with Papa.

Greek Philosophy: Tile 6

For we are lovers of the beautiful without extravagance and we cultivate our minds without becoming fainthearted. We see wealth as a means to great ends, not as an opportunity for showing off. In virtue we are equally singular, doing good and acquiring friends by conferring, not by receiving, favors. And we, alone,  do God to our fellow men, not upon a calculation of interest, but in the confidence of freedom and in a Frank and fearless spirit. ________ Pericles

Your character

You don't live Earth with your riches. You don't get on the other plain with physical possessions. Only the content of your character, your time built personality; a structured soul. A successful man, give him a ½ filled tank he's gonna fill it to the brim. A poor man, give him a ½ filled tank; He's going to empty it. Opposing results, same resources, different perspectives of life; different personalities. The actions are not the problem but who you become after the act. You can't build a sky scraper on a shallow foundation. You can't excel if you're unstable and undependable, water can't support no load cos it'll sink. It's unreliable. It has a surface but a weak support. Has a shape but changes to suit it's container, reshapes to the tides of life. Unstable it is. God wouldn't trust you with so much if you' ve carelessly handle little ones, large buildings won't stand on weak shallow foundations.

The Letter

The bottle sat in the curio cabinet on a shelf all its own for twenty-two years. Full and factory sealed, until today. It had been a test of my sobriety. To keep it within arms reach but never to touch a drop. My sponsor told me more times than I care to count it was dangerous to keep an egg sucking dog in a hen house. He died five years ago. He was sober fifty years when he got taken out by a drunk driver. The bottle ended him one way or another. One of life's ironic, cruel jokes. I knew the misery I was about to unleash. I sat it on the table beside the humidor filled with Cuban cigars. The seal broke easier than I expected. The aroma of the bourbon crawled up my nose like an old friend coming home. A knock came at the front door. An impolite racket, too loud and long. Like trick or treaters or some overzealous court official serving a warrant. Usually, Mary would have run to answer. She was good that way. She left me alone with my writing. I miss her every day. Especiall...

Numberless are the world's torments, but none more direful than man. ___________ Sophocles

Greek Philosophy: Tile 3

Men have fashioned an image of chance as an excuse for their own stupidity. For Chance rarely conflicts with intelligence, and most things in life can be set in order by an intelligent sharp-sightedness. ____________ Democritus

Greek Philosophy: Tile 2

Neither by nature, nor contrary to nature do the virtues (intellect and moral)  arise in us;  rather we are adapted by nature to receive them, and are made perfect by constantly exercising them. Excellence, then,  is not an act but a habit. _________ Aristotle

A leader must always remember these three: First, that he leads men. Second, that he leads according to the law. Third, that he will not lead forever. .....  Agathon

The next inventor

Though I love facts, I go for fiction. Cos we're to bring it to verity. The fictions of the past now the reality of the present. Burdened minds brought those dreams to reality.  I want to create your tomorrow. The mind of an inventor. The shadows of the future all around us. How can this be? Time shall tell. But we shall not wait for time. We've got to device.  Burden your minds, bring to reality fiction. Bring brass tacks animations of life. Be the next inventor.
